Brian Senior - Professional Bridge Player

History:

Brian has been a bridge professional for over twenty years, during which time he has played professionally all over the world, with many successes, including winning the Spring Foursomes, all the events at the EBU Easter Congress in London, and the Grand Masters Pairs with clients, as well as many congress and overseas events. He is an experienced bridge teacher and author, with many books to his name.

Achievements:

Apart from his international appearances, Brian has won tournaments all over the world. These include the NEC Festival Teams in Japan, the Icelandair Teams Championship, the Cairo Bridge Festival Teams and Pairs, and the Australian Gold Coast Pairs Championship. Brian is in the top twenty all-time EBU Masterpoint winners and top ten all-time green point winners, despite his many overseas commitments.

Other Information:

Brian has won bridge events on every continent except Antarctica, as well as all the major English championships. Internationally, he has, at different times, represented England and Great Britain, Northern Ireland and the All-Ireland teams, in official competition. Brian has been playing professionally for over twenty years, with a great deal of success. For several years in the 1980s he lived in Ireland and was a regular member of both the N. Ireland and All-Ireland teams. He has also represented England and Great Britain on many occasions in international competition, most recently partnering his wife, World Ladies champion, Nevena, in the 2014 Camrose Trophy, and Clive Owen in the 2014 Teltscher Trophy (Senior Camrose). Brian works as a journalist at world and zonal championships, contributing to the tournament’s daily bulletins. He sometimes produces one-man bulletins at the smaller zonals. He is the editor and major writer of the official world bridge championship book each year, and has also written many other books aimed at all levels of player.

Whatever the level of tournament, Brian offers to go through the boards after play ends and, as an experienced teacher of all levels of player, knows how to get the message across in a clear and easy to understand manner. However, this is not compulsory and if all you want is to play with a strong and reliable partner then that is fine. As a successful tournament player and experienced teacher, Brian is available for players of all standards. Don’t be afraid that you are too weak a player to benefit from your time with him.
